Our Project

J.A. Tiberti Construction Co., Inc. constructed two new pump stations and surge tanks for the Esmeralda County Public Works department to replace inline booster pumps that were over 40 years old. The project consisted of 2 new masonry pump house buildings with 2 new vertical pumps in each house to provide redundancy that was not previously available. The new bolted steel surge tanks provide system efficiencies to the entire water system to meet current AWWA standards as well as reduce water loss over the entire system by approximately 30%. The project presented challenges with weather, remote location and communications that were met with persistence and consistent team work from all interested parties.

The project also included the replacement of well pumps and VFD's at the well head to further improve efficiencies for the owner. Another key improvement was an update of the SCADA telemetry system to bring the data collection and system optimization into the hands of the capable management staff.
